Ski Dubai

Located in the searing heat of the Arabian desert, Ski Dubai has not only inspired a flourishing snow sports culture in the region, but is enabling residents to follow their passion and nurture their talent to compete on an international scale.

Ski Dubai has created an environment for locals and residents who would have never dreamt about winter sports in the desert, to go from learning how to ski for the first time to becoming world-class winter sport athletes. Ski Dubai has created a Sponsored Athlete programme to coach a select group of promising talent to be able to compete internationally on a professional level.

Five of the sponsored athletes from Ski Dubai have gained recognition and a place in their respective Junior National teams. Emirati athletes will be able to take part in International competitions and form a UAE National Ski and Snowboard Team for the first time. This kind of positive impact on the local community led to the first UAE National Ski and Snowboard Championship hosted by Majid Al Futtaim, where talent was spotted by the UAE Olympics Committee right from the slopes of Ski Dubai.

These initiatives not only unlocked the potential of the UAE’s talented skiing and snowboarding athletes, but firmly positioned Ski Dubai as the official home to the region’s promising snow sports talent, a destination for international snow sports events, and a place where dreams can come true.
