First Carrefour Hypermarket store opens at the Hub Shopping Mall, Karen Store opening represents Majid Al Futtaim’s first operation in Kenya and Sub-Saharan Africa
Nairobi, Kenya Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across Middle East and North Africa, today announced the opening of has its first Carrefour hypermarket in Nairobi, Kenya. The French retail franchisees’ entry into the Kenyan market marks a significant milestone in the Company’s massive expansion plans into the African continent.
The new hypermarket is located in the newly opened Hub Shopping Mall in the Karen suburb and offers more than 30,000 items, including fresh produce and groceries, a fresh bakery, home appliances, electronics and general merchandise.
The hypermarket sits on 5000 square metres of shopping space and will offer its customers more than just shopping. Carrefour, which is the world’s second largest retailer, promises great value packs and a combination of discount offers. This means that customers can purchase quality products at even lower costs, meeting their essential needs at unbeatable prices. This coupled with an excellent shopping experience.

The hypermarket is already working with more than 480 suppliers, local manufacturers, producers, and farmers across Kenya.
