City Centre Sharjah honoured by Sharjah Municipality for National Day efforts

Sharjah Celebrations Committee award City Centre Sharjah second runner up for the best 44th United Arab Emirates National Day activities and décor

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: City Centre Sharjah, owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa, was honoured by the Sharjah Municipality for its 44th United Arab Emirates Spirit of the Union National Day décor and activities. The ceremony took place on 2nd March, 2016 at the Sharjah Municipality headquarters. The Municipality’s Sharjah Celebrations Committee honoured winners of various categories for last year’s National Day participation including; Best Drawing, Best Video, Best Photograph, Best Quote, Best Hotel Décor and Best Shopping Centre Activities and Décor.

City Centre Sharjah was awarded second runner up for its efforts in offering a range of astonishing and entertaining cultural activities and décor. These included hosting a special twenty day shopping experience where mall visitors could win, enchanting traditional dancers and performers who entertained shoppers with national dance styles whilst being accompanied by the famous local band Ayyalah. As part of a giant decorative projection, a unique interactive experience including presenting the UAE flag with a 3-D pop up heart displayed admiration for the UAE.

Also, during a grand draw in City Centre Sharjah, one lucky winner was awarded the grand prize of a Gift Card worth AED 44,000, to mark the end 44th anniversary of the Union celebrations.

“We are delighted and honoured to have been recognised for our efforts in creating great moments for everyone, everyday during the special occasion of the 44th Spirit of the Union,” said Akram Zoheir, Acting Mall Manager for City Centre Sharjah, “We would like to continue to introduce innovative experiences for our loyal visitors and further enhance decorative styles to create memorable moments to honour future United Arab Emirates National Day commemorations.”
