City Centre Malls Inspiring Art of C Initiative Concludes with a Celebration of Art

Muscat, Oman: After more than a week of unleashing the creativity of  Oman’s finest artists and an inspiring group of local talents from the community, Majid Al Futtaim and City Centre Malls’ ‘Art of C’ community arts initiative concludes with a Closing Ceremony that celebrated the diversity and richness of the Sultanate’s thriving art’s culture. Hosted under the patronage of His Excellency Abdullah Shaban Al-Farsi, Head of Administrative and Financial Affairs - Diwan of Royal Court, City Centre Qurum Senior Mall Manager Watfa Humaid Al Harthy and City Centre Muscat, Senior Mall Manager Husam Al Mandhari and the President of the Omani Society for Fine Arts Maryam Al Zadjali, the official ceremony paid tribute to the workmanship of all participants, and recognised the three artists who demonstrated the most artistry and creativity.

“Through initiatives such as the Art of C, City Centre malls aspire to be cultural and entertainment hubs for the community and we will continue to seek partnerships with entities to further create great moments for our loyal guests,” said Husam Al Mandhari Senior Mall Manager for City Centre Muscat.

Yousuf Al Rawahi (first prize), Samar Al Kaabi (second prize), and Bushra Al Zuhaimi (third prize)   were revealed as the three final winners, after a careful judging process steered by the Omani Society for Fine Arts. While all participants were congratulated for their inspired works, these particular emerging artists displayed a unique passion and potential in their art that stood above the rest.  Winners were awarded with OMR 1,000,

OMR 750 and OMR 500 respectively, in addition to being praised by some of the most celebrated artists within the Sultanate.
 
“It has been inspirational to witness the merging of art, culture and society together in one place, and City Centres’ Art of C initiative has highlighted the potential of the Sultanate’s arts community. We would like to thank the Omani Society for Fine Arts for their leadership and congratulate all the participants and emerging artists for their inspiration and dedication,” said Watfa Humaid Al Harthy, Senior Mall Manager for City Centre Qurum.

Throughout the ‘Art of C’ creative workshops, which took place live at City Centre Qurum and City Centre Muscat, from October 19th-27th, 35 emerging artists including talented students and  housewives were given an opportunity to be mentored under the guidance of the Sultanate’s most prominent artists. . The result was a mosaic of decorative pieces of C-shaped artwork, some of which will remain on display in City Centre Qurum and City Centre Muscat to further promote the local arts culture.
