Magic Planet ‘On Top of the World’

Playnation’s Magic Planet, the Middle East’s favourite family entertainment centre, has been announced as a winner of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions’ (IAAPA) Top Family Entertainment Centres of the World Awards in Las Vegas recently.

Operated by Majid Al Futtaim Leisure, Magic Planet at The Avenues in Kuwait received the top international accolade in its field in its first year of operation. The 6,900 square metre leisure destination, was opened at a red carpet launch in April this year, making it the largest facility of its kind in Kuwait.

Judges from the IAAPA FEC Committee evaluated the nominees on operational efficiency, décor and ambiance, quality of marketing programmes and on managerial performance. Magic Planet, which met the stringent criteria, was honoured with the award in recognition of its outstanding facilities, superior marketing and exceptional customer service.

Craig Hart, Vice-President, Majid Al Futtaim Leisure, said the brand had transformed the nature of family fun in the region. “This is our latest Magic Planet outlet to open in the region and is equipped with state-of-the-art simulation games and rides. Having received this remarkable honour in less than six months of its launch speaks volumes of our dedication and investment to raise the bar of indoor leisure and entertainment in this region.”

The Kuwait centre includes the country’s first Robocoaster and vertical drop rides, video simulators with the latest graphics and software as well as a bowling alley and arcade games.

“It’s a tribute to everyone who’s involved with the brand. The stringent selection criteria ensure that applicants are measured against the highest possible standards. This is not an easy award to win.” added Hart.
