As many as 200 grocery items will be discounted between 15 and 45 per cent in the run-up to Ramadan (from 5 May until 8 June), delivering a total saving in excess of 15 million AED.

During the month of Ramadan, Carrefour customers will be able to enjoy access to daily ‘crazy deals’ offering significant savings on commodities, especially family items and basket offers worth AED 100 (13 items) and 200 (26 items). In addition to Ramadan promotions, more than 160 products are set to have their prices “locked” until the end of 2016, as part of Carrefour’s commitment to deliver low costs every day for its customers. The list of items included in the “locked prices” scheme is available at the entrance in all Carrefour hypermarkets in the UAE, with individual products highlighted on the shelves with a “locked price” tag.

Carrefour, which is owned by Majid Al Futtaim in the region, made the announcements during an official visit from Dr. Hashim Al Nuaimi, Director of the Customer Protection Department at the Ministry of Economy, at the Carrefour store in City Centre Deira mall.

The visit, which has become an annual initiative, saw Dr. Al Nuaimi reiterate the ongoing commitment from the Ministry of Economy to maintain economic stability and support future growth in the UAE through effective collaboration with UAE retailers.

He was joined by Miguel Povedano, Executive Regional Director, Majid Al Futtaim Retail, Carrefour franchisee in UAE.
