VOX Cinemas Sets New Standards in Cinema Entertain

Dubai, UAE, 17 July 2012 – Across the UAE, movie-goers are in-store for a bigger, brighter and bolder cinematic experience as VOX Cinemas readies for the summer blockbuster season. With each of the company’s 50 screens now digitally equipped, and more than half of these screens also 3D enabled, VOX Cinemas now offers guests more digital sessions and more 3D screens per location than any other cinema company in the region.

Since James Cameron’s Avatar exploded onto screens in December 2009, the popularity of 3D content has grown phenomenally and to cater to the increasing trend towards more Hollywood and Bollywood 3D-enabled movies,, VOX Cinemas has invested in the new technologies to ensure that guests can experience the movie as the director intended.  Digital cinema technology allows for an enhanced experience, with sharper, brighter images and impactful 3D effects which audiences have been able to watch with the hugely popular ‘The Amazing Spiderman'  and ‘The Avengers’ - two Hollywood blockbusters which VOX Cinemas exclusively premiered in the UAE recently.

VOX Cinemas’ VOX MAX screens have up to four times the number of pixels and resolution of normal screens, and when enjoyed on the concept’s 20-metre mega screens featuring Dolby digital 7.1 multi-channel surround sound –a more immersive and compelling experience for movie-goers. Digital cinema technology has also expanded the attractiveness of cinema for alternative forms of entertainment such as live concerts and sporting events. Recently, VOX Cinemas was the only cinema chain in the Middle East to screen all matches of the UEFA Euro Cup football championships live to sold out sessions, and on VOX MAX’s high resolution 20-metre screens. Several high profile concerts are planned in the coming months, giving residents greater opportunity to enjoy unique forms of indoor entertainment during the hotter summer months.
